Giorgio's Restaurant, Milford, NH

The Sklavonous family knew the time was right to create and build a new restaurant. In the fall of 2004, Mike Cheever, architect at Stenbak Design Associates, who already had a working relationship with the family, was called on to provide consultation on the new venture. Thus began the design development and eventual construction of Giorgio's Restaurant located on the site of the former White Horse Inn in Milford, NH.

Initial efforts were challenging. They included a significant review of the site constraints, which were many, along Mellendy Brook, an improved and changing Nashua Road landscape, and numerous design options impacting the building. In addition, the Sklavonous family wanted a strong Mediterranean flavor to be integrated into the design of the restaurant, so Mike traveled to Greece with the owner, George Sklavonous, to get a true sense of the Old World culture.

The ideas brought forth from the collaboration, as well as from the trip to Greece, are the essence of this special structure. The ability to provide the highest level of service, as well as the finest quality of food also played an important role throughout the design development. All of which helped Stenbak Design to create a restaurant with a unique character in both the exterior design, and the interior finish elements.
