Designing buildings with animals and people in mind is a specialty of Stenbak Design Associates. The Center for Advanced Veterinary Care, as developed by Dr. Deb Kelloway, was designed to meet the needs of a referral practice, which would benefit the veterinary hospital community of Southern New Hampshire. In conjunction with the Veterinary Emergency Center of Manchester, the 8,600 square foot facility was developed to provide integrated services for the animals of the region and their caretakers.
The hospital provides unique capabilities in the area of diagnostic equipment. Specifically, a CAT scan is provided within the hospital, along with a mobile MRI fit-up. Other specialties include mobile sonogram diagnosis and board certified surgical specialists for procedures not normally offered or performed at family veterinary practices.
The design also addressed the integration of a 24-hour emergency service, to compliment the services provided by the staff of the referral practice. The contemporary design of the building was a prerequisite of the owner for the purpose of establishing and displaying an image of current veterinary diagnosis and care.
In addition, the building employs a structural steel framework, which provides it with an opportunity for flexible floor planning and changes as the world of veterinary medicine evolves. For more information about the Center for Advanced Veterinary Care, Manchester, NH, visit www.avcnh.com.
