Ed joined the architectural community even before he graduated from Norwich University in 2001. During his time at Norwich, where he was enrolled in the school's five-year Bachelor of Architecture degree program, Ed participated in the PlanNH design charrettes. PlanNH works with New Hampshire cities and towns, providing them with the design services of members like Ed on a volunteer basis.
Upon graduation, Ed joined as an intern at Jensen Stenbak Architecture and Interiors, the predecessor of Stenbak Design Associates. He spent two years working with clients, establishing a program and timetable of workload, and becoming familiar with building codes. During that same period, Ed developed his own firm, Inspire Designs in Derry, NH, as a freelance designer.
In 2003, Ed joined the staff of AG Architects, PC in Dover, NH, as a Junior Architect. His two years at AG were spent in various capacities, including being a participant in many of the firm's design decision-making sessions.
Ed took all of the experience he gained, and rejoined Stenbak Design Associates as Architect-in-Training/Project Manager. Since returning to Stenbak Design, Ed's tasks have involved Project Management and Design Development, including 3D presentations. As Project Manager, Ed handles many of the firm's small to mid-size projects, ranging from $500,000 to $3 million.
